Volunteers for Prosperity - Partner Organizations
(archive)

Volunteers for Prosperity was a USAID program for US citizens to volunteer abroad via USA-based nonprofits working overseas. The web site, at www.volunteersforprosperity.gov, went away in 2014, as did the program, apparently, but you can still view one of the last versions at archive.org
. The web site proclaimed, once upon a time, "Are you a professional who would like to use your skills to help people in developing countries? Select a category below to find VfP partners that utilize skilled American volunteers overseas." More:

Highly-skilled American professionals such as doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, economists, computer specialists, financial sector professionals, business executives and others with specialized technical expertise and significant practical experience are eligible volunteer candidates. Those interested in becoming volunteers should review the list of VfP partners to determine which best fit their capabilities and interests.

I have archived one of the last versions of the partners page for Volunteer for Prosperity here on my own site, because I want people to be able to find this list in the future, in case they want to volunteer abroad with a credible organization that is focused on humanitarian aid, not making money from voluntourism. Some of these organizations no longer exist and many of the URLs below do not work, but a search on Google or Bing will find the correct web address if the URL still exists.
