Using the ACEE Web Site
The ACEE web site, http://www.utdanacenter.org/acee, serves many purposes: it promotes the successes of the ACEE program, recruits new members, shares resources developed by members, and supports the goals of the ACEE program in literacy and getting the local community active in Sanchez, Allison, and other elementary schools served by the program.
Selected items from the ACEE Newsletter The Catalyst , should be uploaded to the ACEE web site, particularly those items that promote the success of ACEE activities and that would show potential ACEE members what a worthwhile program it is.
You should also feel free to add resources or even new sections to the handbook you are reading now; get permission from Bryan FIRST, however, and let him read your draft documents, before you prepare them in .HTML for the web site.
You can get information prepared for the web site by:
- Formatting the information yourself as .HTML documents, using another document on the ACEE web site as a template. New documents should have a similar look and feel to existing files on the site.
- Recruiting an AmeriCorps member to do this for you.
- Recruiting an online volunteer in the Austin area to do this for you (using the methods outlined elsewhere in this document).
- Contact Jayne Cravens and ask her if the online volunteers for the Virtual Volunteering Project can do this for you.
When .HTML documents are ready to be uploaded to the site, contact Billie Pierce, and she will do this for you.
When the Web site is updated, ask Bryan if it would be appropriate for you to post a notice about the new information/resources on the site to these online discussion groups:
