Barcelona 2004 Visit

In August 2004, I went on my second trip to Barcelona. This time, I got to be there with my then-boyfriend (now husband), Stefan. I was there for work, to attend a volunteerism conference (the 18th IAVE 2004 World Volunteer Conference). He joined me later and I got to show him one of my very favorite cities. I meant to write a travelogue. But I never did.

Click here for a nice city scape photo.

We went to La Sagrada Familia - my second visit. It's always worth a visit.

Stefan got to see the outside of a "bombers" station (that's Catalan for firefighter). We love trying to meet firefighters when we're traveling.

Stefan got to see the Catalan wooden submarine.

I got to meet "Che" Guevara.

I bought the obligatory Spanish fan.

We got to celebrate Mama Sol's birthday.

I got drunk on the beach (photo redacted).

I ate amazing food. Because that's what you do in Catalunya!

See all my photos from my 2004 visit to Barcelona (only 30). The only thing I remember that's not represented in the photos: we took the light rail. I didn't even know Barcelona had a light rail. I also remember that Sodexo provided the food at the conference site and, of course, it was horrible.
